Time flies, and I’m already 10 months into my Invisalign journey. I wearing my 19th set of aligners now and I’m seeing real results. So, another one of the most common question that I get asked is “How do I clean my invisalign?”. I mentioned on my previous Invisalign post. The aligners are easy to clean, you can brush your aligners with your toothbrush. I always keep my aligner clean by brushing them at the same time when I brush my own teeth.

I will take them out every morning and evening to do my own dental hygiene, this is a perfect time to clean out my aligners. Remember avoid toothpaste when brushing out your aligners, as it can cause scratches to appear. When finished, rinse them with water and place back into my mouth. It is really this simple.

If you want your Invisalign aligners to be cleaned even more thoroughly, you can use denture cleaner to soak your aligners. Once a week, soak your aligners for 15 minutes, brush and rinse your aligner well before putting back in your mouth. This is one of the easy and inexpensive ways in keeping your aligners clear, fresh and free from harmful bacteria.

Keeping your aligners clean is so important, having a clean aligners makes the Invisalign process way better. If aligners aren’t cleaned properly, they can become dingy, dull and making the teeth look somewhat yellow. Although my dentist told me that they are replaced every two weeks, so it is a minor issue, but it will becomes complicated if you don’t clean your aligners properly.

As usual, here are some updates of my Invisalign treatment.
