DuoGigs are back at it again with our fashion traveller’s weekend getaway and this time, to Singapore we go! Be prepared, its going to be a pretty long ass post as we are going to include some of the hotels and locations that we would love to recommend to you guys so that you guys can visit the next time you’re here J

Just last month, Evangeline and I were flown to Singapore for our weekend getaway but aside from the vacation, we were also invited to attend the Fashion Step Out Event! So anyways, we will talk about the good hotels and locations that we’ve been to before we go into details about Fashion Step Out yeah?  Let’s start off with the moment we touched down Singapore!

On the first day, Evangeline and I checked into a chic and stylish boutique hotel, the Klapsons Hotel. Klapsons Hotel is a dazzling and chic brand inspired by the artistry of the modern day. The Boutique Hotel is the top designer luxury boutique hotel in Singapore each guestroom at Klapsons has an individualized design identity so that no rooms are alike, ensuring that visitors have a refreshing experience, and discover new comforts and indulgences with every stay at this innovative hotel. We can’t deny we enjoyed every detail in the room.

Next, we were headed for lunch at Aura Restaurant in National Gallery Singapore. We had an amazing lunch at one of the most iconic Italian restaurant where everything is Instagram worthy such as the food and the spectacular city skyline at the restaurant.

Aura Restaurant treats diners to classic Italian cuisine and a world-class contemporary dining experience. The menu is an extensive expression of Italian creativity, showcasing a variety of antipasto, pastas and wholesome mains that feature the finest, freshest ingredients from the land and the sea. All we can say is.. our tummies were very happy. #happytums

Finally, after filling our tummies, we finally left for ION Orchard. Here, we would recommend you guys to visit the Alice + Olivia Store, the first store ever in Southeast Asia. Created by fashion designer Stacey Bendet, this fashion brand features kooky cute details like red lippies on dresses, strawberries on shoes, paired with stripes, pretty pleated skirts and a vibrant mix of floral print. Celebrity fashionistas the likes of Katy Perry, Solange Knowles, Taylor Swift, Blake Lively have been spotted wearing threads from this New York-based label. Every piece is a gem!

The next location we went was Potato Head Folk. The name sounds cute, no? Its actually a dining place! We had a stylish dining at this place with its photogenic array of meals.

(We ordered Truff Ryder and Smokin’ B-Boy burger) Offering an awesome four-in-one dining concept, you get to choose to dig into gourmet burgers at Three Buns (level one and two), lounge at reservation-only bar Studio 1939, or hit the rooftop garden and soak up the sights and sounds of Chinatown over a cocktail. This place has everything you crave for! Do check it out if there’s a chance. Evangeline and I would definitely be returning customers!

Next up, we went to Duxton Hill to attend a tequila party in Lucha Loco. Lucha Loco is a garden bar serving authentic Mexican food and quality tequilas. Combined with a selection of some of the finest highland tequila’s, and a fun, warm and buzzing ambience, Lucha Loco provides an authentic and casual Mexican experience as it is inspired by the Mexican culture. Unlike anything else in Singapore, they serve authentic Mexican street food and with a design and ambience inspired by what they saw and experienced on their travels.

That place is the place to be the end the night. Drink your night away!

One of our favourite part of this trip is when we were invited to TANGS to have a DIY session with some of the local designers. We were so honoured to have this opportunity to meet them and shared a session together. The activities that we did together were building our own bracelets, binary style session and getting tips on wearing a scarf in 10 different ways. Evangeline and I had an amazing time with the designers and we got so much experience out of it! Truly inspiring sessions we had and we’re so grateful we got the opportunity to learn.

We hope you guys had a great time reading and don’t mind the lengthy post.

Stay tuned for the next post - Fashion Step Out 2016.
